The Northern Illinois Huskies absolutely dominated the Buffalo Bulls on Saturday at Huskie Stadium, easily winning 45-3.

This MAC affair was never in doubt, with the Huskies rattling off 38 unanswered points to close out the scoring.

Northern Illinois (6-1, 3-0 MAC) racked up 460 total yards while cruising to a victory. The Huskies ran effectively throughout the contest, amassing 219 yards on 41 attempts.

Junior quarterback Jordan Lynch led the way, passing 13-for-21 for 232 yards and a pair of touchdowns. Perhaps even more impressive, Lynch ran for 129 yards and two touchdowns on 15 carries.

Martel Moore also had a memorable day, catching eight of Lynch's passes for 133 yards and a touchdown.

Despite gaining 337 yards, Buffalo couldn't find the end zone against a bend-but-don't-break Huskies defense. The Bulls were their own worst enemy, turning the ball over three times including two Alex Zordich interceptions.

Buffalo (1-5, 0-3 MAC) was led both on the ground (47 yards on 13 carries) and in the air (18-30, 177 yards) by quarterback Alex Zordich.

Box score hero: Jordan Lynch was the catalyst for Northern Illinois, accounting for four touchdowns and 361 yards.

Did they cover?: NIU was favored by 12 points and easily covered the spread.

Next week's schedule: Buffalo will host the Pittsburgh Panthers next Saturday while the Huskies hit the road to duel with the Akron Zips.

Northern Illinois holds a commanding 28-3 lead over the Buffalo Bulls on Saturday, heading into the second half.

The Northern Illinois Huskies are well on their way to a 6-1 record and a 3-0 mark within the MAC. They're at halftime against the 1-4 Buffalo Bulls, and hold a 28-3 lead. A strong rushing attack has, once again, led the Huskies to early domination, with quarterback Jordan Lynch leading the way. Lynch has carried the ball 13 times for 128 yards, including a pair of four-yard touchdowns in the second quarter. It's eclipsed his passing game once again, as he's thrown for 107 yards on the day.

Northern Illinois' other two touchdowns also came on the ground. Akeem Daniels rushed for a 1-yard score near the start of the second quarter, while Da'Ron Brown had a 12-yard score early on in the first. That was Brown's only carry on the day, while Daniels has carried three times for 15 yards.

Buffalo quarterback Alex Zordich has been accurate on the day, with 12 completions in 18 attempts for 115 yards, but the lacking rushing attack has hurt them bad. They've just 43 yards on the ground, in comparison to Northern Illinois and their 191 rushing yards. Buffalo's only points came on a Patrick Clarke 28-yard field goal in the first quarter. That drive went 15 plays and 78 yards, but stalled out at the 10-yard line.

The Huskies look to keep their win streak alive against Buffalo.

The Northern Illinois Huskies look to keep rolling in MAC play when they host the Buffalo Bulls this Saturday in Dekalb, Ill.

After a one-point loss in week one to the Iowa Hawkeyes, Northern Illinois has run through five straight wins and are currently 2-0 in the MAC. Junior quarterback Jordan Lynch has carried the multi-faceted mantle on from the departed Chandler Harnish, and leads the Huskies' offense with 1,255 passing yards and 789 rushing yards. Lynch's running capabilities make the Northern Illinois rushing offense the 11th-best in the country.

That running proficiency looks to be bad news for Buffalo, whose run defense ranks No. 93 in the country, allowing 190 rushing yards per game. Buffalo, who has yet to win over an FBS opponent this season, also sports a strong run game of its own. The Bulls average 222 rushing yards per game led by junior running back Branden Oliver, but is nursing a leg injury and may not be as effective.
