The Chicago Bulls have been playing well without Derrick Rose this season, but as the playoffs approach the timetable for running with a full roster is rapidly dissipating. Rose missed his 24th game on Monday night (sore foot), which can be added to an alarming network of injuries that include turf toe, a strained groin, a sprained ankle and back spasms. Luol Deng also sat out with what head coach Tom Thibodeau called a rib injury, even though he is also dealing with torn ligaments in his left wrist. Richard Hamilton scored 22 points and looked at close to healthy as he may get before the playoffs, but a depleted roster contributed to a disappointing 87-84 loss to the Washington Wizards.

In the post-game press conference Thibs addressed all of these issues and more, and used the phrase "do your job" more than once to sum up Monday night's failure. Here is Thibs giving it to the media straight, via CSN-Chicago.

The Chicago Bulls played without All-Stars Derrick Rose and Luol Deng on Monday at the United Center, and it showed. The Bulls fell to the lowly Washington Wizards 87-84. C.J. Watson had a great look at a three-pointer to send the game to overtime as the clock expired, but the shot missed and Washington grabbed an unlikely victory. The win moves the Wizards to 15-46. Chicago falls to 46-15.

Forward Kevin Seraphin finished with 21 points, 13 rebounds and five blocks to propel the Wizards. John Wall had 16 points and five assists for Washington. Maurice Evans added 14 points off the bench for Washington.

Richard Hamilton finished 9-of-20 from the field to score a team-high 22 points for Chicago. Hamilton also added fie rebounds and five assists on the night. Carlos Boozer had 16 points and 13 rebounds in the loss. Watson finished with 17 points and eight assists.

Carlos Boozer has 14 points and seven rebounds to lead the Bulls. Richard Hamilton has 16 points, four assists and four rebounds in 26 minutes. Joakim Noah has six points and seven rebounds for Chicago. C.J. Watson has scored seven.

The Chicago Bulls are playing without their two All-Stars tonight against the Washington Wizards, and so far, it's clearly showing. A sloppy first half has mercifully come to an end at the United Center with Chicago trailing Washington 43-39.

Forward Kevin Seraphin leads Washington with 10 points and six rebounds, five of them coming on the offensive end. Washington's starting backcourt of John Wall and Jordan Crawford each finished the half with seven points. Rookie forward Jan Vesely has six points, three rebounds, and two steals for the Wizards at the half.

Carlos Boozer and Richard Hamilton each have nine points for Chicago. Boozer has added six rebounds and has done his offensive damage on 3-of-6 shooting from the field. Taj Gibson, Joakim Noah, and Ronnie Brewer each have four points for Chicago.

The Chicago Bulls are without both Derrick Rose and Luol Deng Monday night, but they shot a solid 55% from the field in the first quarter anyway, and they hold a 23-19 lead over the visiting Washington Wizards.

They were hampered by seven turnovers in the quarter, however, and that issue has limited their opportunities to put some distance between themselves and the Wizards.

Richard Hamilton leads the way for Chicago with nine points on 4-6 shooting from the field. Carlos Boozer has six points and three boards, while C.J. Watson has three assists.

Chicago Bulls PG Derrick Rose sustained a nasty cut across the bridge of his nose in Sunday night's game against the Detroit Pistons. The injury occurred when F Charlie Villanueva delivered a hard foul on Rose late in the fourth quarter.

After the game, Rose explained a bit of his frustrations:

"I really don’t know [why he gets cheap-shotted by opponents]. Probably because I don’t say anything, but I’m a man. Situations like that, you have to say something," he continued. "You’ve got to.
Derrick Rose currently leads the Bulls with 22.5 points and 7.9 assists per game, despite struggling with injuries for the majority of the season.
