The Chicago Bulls wrapped up a six-game home-stand on Saturday night by defeating the Philadelphia 76ers 89-80 at the United Center. The victory means Chicago finishes the home-stand 4-2 -- an impressive mark considering the last three games were played without star point guard Derrick Rose, who is a out nursing a groin injury.

Chicago heads into next week 37-10 overall, the best mark in the NBA. The Bulls lead the Miami Heat by three games for first place in the Eastern Conference standings. Third place Orlando is seven games back of Chicago. At Blog-a-Bull, I wondered if the Bulls have enough to win the NBA championship.

Much like the Bulls in the East, the Oklahoma City Thunder also appear to be starting to run away with the Western Conference. Oklahoma City is only 6-4 in its last 10 games, but at 33-11, lead the West by 3.5 games over the San Antonio Spurs. The LA Lakers (28-16) are charging up the West standings. At 8-2 in their last 10 games, the Lakers have moved into third in the conference, give games behind OKC.

The Chicago Bulls (37-10) had to overcome their horrid first period, but they managed to outmatch the Philadelphia 76ers (25-20) in the final three quarters for an impressive comeback win -- all without their star PG Derrick Rose.

Five Bulls hit double digits in points Saturday evening -- PG C.J. Watson (20 PTS), C Joakim Noah (13 PTS), PF Carlos Boozer (11 PTS), F Taj Gibson (11 PTS) and SF Kyle Korver (11 PTS) -- with Noah also adding 11 rebounds for an impressive double-double performance. The Bulls also dominated on defense and collected 53 rebounds to the 76ers' 36 boards -- including a whopping 17 offensive rebounds. Meanwhile, the 76ers proved to be especially foul-happy, lodging 20 PF to the Bulls' 11.

In the first two periods, the Bulls had to overcome an 11-0 start just to bring the score within six points at the half. But the Bulls jumped ahead in the third quarter, outscoring Philadelphia 26-15, eventually cruising to an 89-80 win.

The Bulls will be back in action on Monday night, taking on the Orlando Magic at the Amway Center in Florida.

The Chicago Bulls will be looking for a way to contain PG Jrue Holiday -- as well as cut down on their turnovers -- in the second half against the Philadelphia 76ers.

With star PG Derrick Rose still sidelined with an injury, the Bulls have seemingly lost some of their edge. The duo of PG John Lucas III (9 MIN, 6 PTS) and PG C.J. Watson (8 MIN, 9 PTS, 1 AST) have tried to fill the gap left by Rose, but Philadelphia's Holiday (15 PTS, 2 REB) has thus far stolen the show.

As a team, the Bulls have committed 10 turnovers to the 76ers' 5, and their start to the game could not have been worse. Over the first five minutes, the Bulls fell into an 11-0 deficit and have been fighting back ever since. The 76ers finally showed signs of weakness near the end of the first half when they allowed SG Ronnie Brewer to slip through for a buzzer-beating layup and a 44-38 score.

The Chicago Bulls (36-10, 18-4 home) host the Philadelphia 76ers (25-19, 9-10 away) on Saturday night.

After taking down the Miami Heat without Derrick Rose on Wednesday night, the Chicago Bulls got a quick reminder that things don't usually come easy without your best player on the floor. They played a Portland Trail Blazers team that shipped out their top role players and fired their coach at the NBA Trade Deadline, but they somehow found a way to let the broken down Blazers stick around long enough to pull of a 100-89 upset. It's not time to panic or anything -- the Bulls still haven't lost consecutive regular season games since Feb. 7 -- but the Rose-less Bulls are a lot closer to what they showed on Friday night than they are to the team that shocked the Heat on Wednesday. It's about perspective.

Rose is still nursing a sore groin and will again be a game-time decision, while the Sixers are planning to welcome back starting center Spencer Hawes into the lineup. The last time these two teams met (March 4), Rose closed the deal and helped the Bulls leave Philly with a 96-91 win in hand. Just to help get the taste of the Blazers loss out of your mouth, let's revisit his sweet game-winner in that contest:
