Thanks to four scorers in double digits, the Fighting Irish cruised to an easy victory over the Delaware State Hornets on Friday night to improve to 4-0 on the season. The Irish were led by senior guard Scott Martin, who dropped in 23 points on just under 50% shooting on the night. Right on his heels were sophomore guards Alex Dragicevich and Jerian Grant, who scored 18 and 17 points respectively.

As a team, the Irish pretty much shot the lights out, going 49% from the field and 48% from three on the night. Their defense was also very solid, as they held the Hornets to 40% shooting from the field despite Delaware State hitting 8 of their 17 three point attempts. The Hornets were led by freshman guard Tahj Tate, who dropped in seven three pointers on his way to a 29 point night. Unfortunately for Delaware State, though, none of his teammates were able to reach double digits as the Irish breezed to a 24 point victory.

Joey Brooks finished with 13 points, nine rebounds and two steals to help lead Notre Dame to a 59-53 win over Detroit.

Joey Brooks and Eric Atkins each scored 13 points to lead Notre Dame (2-0) to a 59-53 victory over Detroit at the Joyce Center. Brooks, a 6'6 junior wing out of Houston, also added nine rebounds and two steals in the win for the Irish. Notre Dame was again without arguably its best player, senior forward Tim Abromaitis. Abromaitis served the second game of a four-game NCAA suspension for a technical rules violation that occurred his freshman season.

Detroit held a 39-31 lead in the second half before poor shooting doomed them. For the game, the Titans shot just under 31 percent. The Irish made their impact at the line, draining 17 free throws (at a 54 percent clip, but still) compared to five by Detroit.

Detroit was led by sophomore Ray McCallum, who finished with a game-high 20 points.

Next up for Notre Dame is is Sam Houston State on Wednesday.
