Chicago, IL (Sports Network) – Patrick Sharp scored the game-winning goal with 1:10 remaining in overtime to lift Chicago to a 3-2 come-from-behind win over St. Louis at the United Center.

Jason Cullimore skated down the left side and carried the puck behind the net before finding Patrick Kane at the bottom of the right circle. Kane spun and waited patiently before threading a pass through three defenders to the right doorstep from where he rammed home his third straight game-winning tally.

Marian Hossa notched the other two goals to extend his point scoring streak to seven games for the Blackhawks, who have won four in a row, including the last three by a single goal.

Marty Turco turned away 32 shots, seven of which he faced in the extra session, to earn the win for the defending Stanley Cup champions.

David Perron scored both goals while Jaroslav Halak stopped 30 shots in defeat for the Blues, who lost all three games on their just-concluded road trip.

The game was scoreless until midway through the second period.

Perron skated around a sprawled defenseman in Brent Seabrook and tucked a backhander past Turco from the right doorstep to give the visitors the lead.

T.J. Oshie led a three-on-one up the left side and cut to his right to draw the defender before he slid a pass to Perron, who snapped a one-timer past Turco from the bottom of the right circle to make it a 2-0 game with 10 1/2 minutes remaining in the contest.

But the Blackhawks rallied to tie the game in the final seven minutes.

Hossa made a cross ice pass to Seabrook at the right face-off circle and the defenseman sent a shot toward the net that was knocked down in front. The disc squirted free at the right side of the net from where Hossa backhanded it home for a power play marker with 6:48 to play.

Hossa got the game tied 2 1/2 minutes later on another backhander through the legs of a fallen Oshie after a goal mouth scramble.

Hossa has potted a goal in five of Chicago’s seven games…He has 12 goals and 19 points in 23 career games against the Blues…Sharp has eight goals and 22 points in 33 matches against St. Louis…Turco gained his 11th career victory over the Blues…Chicago’s Tomas Kopecky has earned a point in a career-high five straight games…Halak made his first career outing against Chicago. Perron has six goals in 18 career games versus the Blackhawks.

(Sports Network) - After a slow start to the season, the Chicago Blackhawks appear to be getting on a roll. The defending Stanley Cup champions shoot for a third straight victory tonight in a matchup with the St. Louis Blues at United Center.

Chicago dropped its first two games of the season by one goal each, but have won two straight and three of four since. The Blackhawks skated in their fifth one-goal game of the season on Saturday, a 4-3 triumph over the Sabres that was their first in three home games this season.

Patrick Sharp notched his second straight two-goal game, while Marian Hossa and Dave Bolland also scored. Sharp and Hossa, who has at least one point in each of Chicago's first six games, are tied for the league lead with five goals each, while Hossa is also tied for first amongst NHL skaters with nine points.

"I think we just got better as the game went on," Sharp said. "It wasn't the start we were looking for ... but we picked up our level of play and battled back. We needed a win at home badly, and we just kept getting better as the game went on."

Marty Turco made 38 saves and is likely to be in net again tonight. He is 10-8-2 with a tie and 2.44 goals-against average in his career versus the Blues.

Sharp has seven goals and 14 assists in 32 games versus St. Louis, while Hossa has 10 goals and 17 points in 22 contests against the club.

The Blues, meanwhile, picked up wins in their first two home games to start the campaign, but have since dropped back-to-back contests on the road. They will try to salvage the finale of a three-game road trip this evening.

St. Louis was dealt a 3-2 shootout loss in Dallas on Saturday. Patrik Berglund and Andy McDonald scored in regulation, but Ty Conklin was beat three times in the shootout after making 23 stops in the first 65 minutes.

Jaroslav Halak started St. Louis' first three games in net and should be the starter tonight. He has never before faced the Blackhawks.

T.J. Oshie has three assists and four points over St. Louis' first four games and has totaled eight helpers and nine points in 11 career games versus Chicago.
