I already went long on Bryan Bickell's contributions in Game 5 on Wednesday and throughout the postseason, but don't let that overshadow the fact that the Blackhawks big name stars have also been very good. Jonathan Toews, in particular, was everywhere in Game 5. From Scott Powers at ESPN Chicago:

Toews was ineffective in Game 4 of the second-round series against the Minnesota Wild on Friday. He had a season-worst 27.6 Corsi percentage; the Blackhawks had eight shots for and 21 shots against with him on the ice in 5-on-5 situations, according to extraskater.com. He was also held without a point and had a minus-1 rating.

Just a game later, the Wild couldn’t contain Toews.

He had a 76 Corsi percentage, his sixth highest of the season, and the Blackhawks had 19 shots for and six against with him on the ice.

Bickell may be tied for the league-lead in the playoffs with six goals, but the rest of the statistical leaders for the 'Hawks show that everyone else is still very much pulling their weight. Marian Hossa leads the team and is sixth overall with 11 points. Toews and Patrick Kane each have five goals. Brent Seabrook -- when he isn't being suspended for vicious cheapshots -- has been a pretty great two-way threat as well, tying for seventh overall in the postseason with 10 points.

I'll admit, I was never feeling particularly comfortable in Game 5. Minnesota came out skating hard and fast and controlling the puck. The Blackhawks mostly looked like idiots -- weak passes, players colliding, no hard pushes to the net. When Erik Haula scored to give the Wild a 1-0 lead with just over three minutes remaining in the period, it felt completely inevitable. Fortunately, the 'Hawks got their shit together in the second.

Bickell scored the only goal, but the 'Hawks seemed to control the action throughout the second. They fired 15 shots at the net and finally started generating chances offensively. I'm still shocked whenever this team scores a power play goal even with this much offensive talent because they struggled so much last year in that department. Shout-out to Jonas Brodin for a) carrying the wheel and b) taking that two-minute hooking penalty that led to Bickell's goal.
Troy Machir immediately tweeted #McPuckets, which killed me. A few of my Bulls Twitter bros basically reenacted the scene with Darth Vader at the end of Episode III. I was really excited about that picture and thought that would be all that came of it, but I ended up next to him in the bathroom line before the third period and starting talking to him.

First of all, super nice guy. I thought it was weird no one else seemed to noticed him, if only because he's 6'8 and has been all over TV and magazines the last three months, but I guess nobody in Chicago really gives a shit about college sports, particularly Creighton basketball. FINE. I asked him if the Bulls brought him here, and of course they didn't: he was in town for the NBA Draft Combine, which starts on Thursday. I'll be there!

I asked him if he was going to be a three or a four in the NBA, and he said he was going to mostly be a three. I told him, the thing is, it's going to be super tough to guard threes in the NBA because there's so many great ones. That was probably an impolite thing to say, sure, but he did respond with "I know", which is pretty great.

Having visited this city during the season, I have come to realize that at this time of year in Chicago, you can't get very far without seeing the familiar colors of the Chicago Bears everywhere you look. In a city that is dominated by its love for their pro team, more often than not, many of the local college football programs find themselves playing second fiddle, But this year, there has been plenty to celebrate in the Chicago area with coaches emerging from every division to establish themselves among the nation's best as they get it done every Saturday on the field, while contributing to their athletes' off-field success and making an impact in the community.

Pat Fitzgerald, Northwestern University (FBS)

Coach Fitzgerald took over the Wildcats in 2006 under extremely difficult circumstances, after former head coach Randy Walker passed away unexpectedly. Fitzgerald was just 31 years old at the time, but stepped up to the challenge and embraced this tremendous responsibility. He's now the second-longest tenured coach in the Big Ten and has drastically improved the Wildcat program. This growth reached an exclamation point last season, when the Wildcats went 10-3, including a 34-20 win in the Gator Bowl, their first bowl game victory since the 1948 Rose Bowl.

Outside of football, Fitzgerald keeps his players focused in the classroom, as last fall 34 players made it to the Academic All-Big Ten Team. Fitzgerald and his family are also active in Evanston charity work, participating in NU's annual Dance Marathon to raise epilepsy awareness, as well as making weekly hospital and elementary school visits, and regularly volunteering with Special Olympics and other organizations.

This season the Wildcats began the season 4-0, while taking Ohio State to the brink in a primetime night game matchup. It was the first time that ESPN College Gameday visited Evanston in almost two decades. The Wildcats have slid since, but will still have big opportunities to prove themselves with matchups against Michigan State and Illinois to close out the year.

Dino Babers, Eastern Illinois University (FCS)

In his playing career at Hawaii, Babers started at three different positions for the Warriors while earning All-Western Athletic Conference Academic honors. As a senior, he served as the Warriors' special teams' captain and also led the team in rushing. This diverse experience and overall knowledge of the game has translated into coaching success, as Babers has appeared as a coach or coordinator in 12 different bowl games.

Like Fitzgerald, Babers also inherited a big challenge when he took over as head coach last year, as the Panthers had won a total of just four games in the previous two seasons. Babers immediately showed that he belonged, leading Eastern Illinois to a 7-5 record (6-1 within conference), as well as a trip to the FCS Playoffs.

This year, just four hours outside Chicago, Babers has his team hungry for much more, currently 10-1 (7-0 within conference) with the Panthers ranked No. 2 in the FCS Coaches' Poll. Babers continues to keep his team focused on the field, while still finding time to contribute the community that supports them and excel in the classroom.

Jim Catanzaro, Lake Forest College (D3)

In 2013, Jim Catanzaro and Lake Forest came out strong, opening the year with five straight victories. The Foresters are also making a habit of performing in the clutch, winning six of their contests by eight points or less. Heading into the regular season finale, the Foresters are sporting an 8-2 record.

Last season Catanzaro was named as a Liberty Mutual Coach of the Year finalist after a superb 2012 campaign. The Foresters claimed a share of the Midwest Conference Championship with an 8-1 record, including the longest single-season win streak in program history. In addition, Catanzaro was named MWC Coach of the Year. Off the field, Catanzaro has his team committed to a high level of academic achievement. In spring 2012, 11 Lake Forest players were named as Academic All-Midwest Conference honorees. Through his first three seasons as head coach, 31 players have been named to this list.

Chicago lost Brian Urlacher, so the need for a middle linebacker is of paramount importance.

In SB Nation's latest NFL mock draft, Dan Kadar has the Chicago Bears taking middle linebacker Alec Ogletree of the Georgia Bulldogs with the No. 20 overall pick, replacing Brian Urlacher.

Ogletree has all the talent in the world but the knock on him has come off the field. Ogletree has been in trouble with the law a few times, including a DUI arrest a week before the NFL combine in February.

With Georgia, Olgetree showed a unique blend of size and speed. At 6'2 and 240 pounds, Ogletree can play sideline-to-sideline while having the size to play at the point of attack. However, he does struggle at times with being able to shed blocks because of a lackluster technique.

Ogletree is the typical boom-or-bust guy. If he works hard and studies, there is no telling how talented he can be. However, if he continues to have off-the-field problems and shows a lazy nature -- which he's rumored to have -- the team that drafts him may regret it.

Chicago has a pair of great corners already on the roster, so would they really consider using their first round pick on one? At least one expert thinks so.

The Chicago Bears have been linked to several positions in next week's NFL draft, heavily favoring the linebacker, offensive line, and tight end prospects for the 20th pick. The Bears will likely be looking for a player to either take the spot of Brian Urlacher or to energize the offense by either protecting Jay Cutler or giving him another weapon to use.

So are the Bears really going to consider a cornerback when they already have Tim Jennings and Charles Tillman?

More: Analyzing Bears trade scenarios

While it seems crazy to target a position of little need next season when there are positions of great need that have not been filled. Rob Rang of CBS Sports notes that it appears the Bears are "leaning" that way. In his latest mock draft, he has Chicago taking Desmond Trufant out of Washington:

With 2012 Pro Bowlers Charles Tillman and Tim Jennings on the roster it might seem unlikely the Bears would draft another cornerback this high but that is precisely the direction the team appears to be leaning. Trufant, the younger brother of Marcus (Seahawks) and Isaiah (Jets) has excellent bloodlines, remarkable athleticism and is a four-year starter who is peaking after strong performances at the Senior Bowl and combine.

The Bears would clearly not have a starting position next season open for Trufant, but corners often take a season to adjust to the speed of the NFL anyway. He could be next in line for Chicago, a franchise that takes great pride in its defense, and both Tillman and Jennings will be over 30 next year.

But could they really pass over a linebacker or tight end for the future at cornerback?

Chicago has been tied to the tight end for awhile now. Will they pull the trigger on the Irish' pass-catcher?

When it comes to projecting a player to the Bears in the first round of this year's draft, there has not been much variation in mock drafts thus far. Offensive line, linebacker, and tight end have been the most speculated positions pointed to, and at the 20th overall pick, there are only so many options. For that reason, tight end Tyler Eifert of Notre Dame has been projected to Chicago many times.

The Bears have long had offensive issues, and finished 28th in total offense in 2012. It is the 12th time in the last 13 years that Chicago has failed to finish in the top 20 in that category. Rebuilding has been underway for quite some time with the additions of Jay Cutler, Matt Forte, and Brandon Marshall, but still the points on offense are rarer than the average team. Could Eifert be the key?

If not Eifert, Chicago could go for the best available offensive lineman though they did add Jermon Bushrod in free agency. What they have yet to really do is replace linebacker Brian Urlacher, though that might be kind of hard to imagine anyway.

SB Nation's latest mock draft has expanded into three rounds. Who do the Bears pick in this one?

With the NFL Draft just two weeks away, it's time to start looking at the bigger picture, and that means expanding mock drafts to look beyond the first round. The Chicago Bears only hold two picks in the first three rounds, having given up their third-rounder in the Brandon Marshall trade before last season.

SB Nation's Matthew Fairburn released his first three-round mock on Monday. In this version, he sees the Bears continuing to upgrade their offensive line, taking North Carolina OG Jonathan Cooper with the 20th pick:

The Bears aren't done revamping the offensive line. At least, they shouldn't be. Jonathan Cooper is arguably the draft's best guard and can play both guard positions as well as center. He's well worth a first-round pick.

Despite signing Martellus Bennett, Chicago could still use a receiving weapon out of the tight end position, and choose to select San Diego State TE Gavin Escobar in the second round:

The Bears beefed up the offensive line in the first round, now they need to find another weapon for Jay Cutler. Gavin Escobar is our top ranked tight end on the board at this point.

Check out the complete mock draft at the link below.

Michigan blew through the South region thanks to AP Player of the Year Trey Burke. They defeated South Dakota State, VCU, Kansas and Florida to reach the Final Four for the first time in 20 years. Their most memorable win was over Kansas in the Sweet 16, when Burke scored 18 second half points to bring the Wolverines back from a 14-point deficit. He later drained a 30-foot jump shot with four seconds left to send the game to overtime.

Syracuse also broke a long drought -- this is their first time in the semifinals since their championship run in 2003. They used their withering 2-3 zone defense to dispatch Montana, California, Indiana and Marquette in the East region. Only one of their victories was by less than double digit points.

Here's the complete schedule for Saturday's game:

Game time: 8:49 p.m. ET

Location: Georgia Dome, Atlanta, Ga.

TV: CBS (also streaming online at March Madness Live)
