The Pittsburgh Panthers and Notre Dame Fighting Irish are tied 3-3 after the first quarter Saturday after the teams traded field goals on their opening drives.
Kyle Brindza capped off a 14-play opening drive for Notre Dame with a 37-yard field goal. Kevin Harper hit a 39-yarder after a seven-play opening drive. A 55-yard run by Ray Graham got Pitt into field goal range.
Pitt quarterback Tino Sunseri is 2-for-3 passing for nine yards. Graham has two carries for 58 yards.
Notre Dame has dominated time of possession in the first. Quarterback Everett Golson is 8-for-11 passing for 79 yards. He has one carry for eight yards. Running back Cierre Wood has four carries for six yards. Theo Riddick has six carries for 29 yards. Tyler Eifert has three catches for 32 yards.
Notre Dame currently has the ball and has a first down at the Pitt 32 as the second quarter is about to get underway.
