College Football Schedule 2012: Notre Dame hosts Wake Forest, Northwestern visits Michigan State

Fighting Irish try to avoid looking ahead to USC, as Northwestern tries to bounce back with a win

Mark L. Baer-US PRESSWIRE

The No. 3 Notre Dame Fighting Irish look to remain undefeated when they host the Wake Forest Demon Deacons on Saturday afternoon in South Bend. The Irish must remain unbeaten to keep their BCS Championship hopes alive, which means avoiding a letdown at home with their rival matchup against USC scheduled for next weekend.

In Big Ten play, the Northwestern Wildcats visit the Michigan State Spartans in a Legends Division matchup. Northwestern must bounce back from tough overtime loss on the road at Michigan last week. The Wildcats are 3-3 in conference play but can lock up a strong bowl bid by beating Michigan State and Illinois in their two remaining conference games.
