Notre Dame and Miami will get to know each other a lot better Saturday, as the Fighting Irish host the Hurricanes at Soldier Field in an early preview of future ACC competition, when the Irish join as partial members.
It's a match-up featuring the vaunted Miami passing offense, as Al Golden's team is throwing for 328 yards per game on the arm of Stephen Morris, who threw for more than 500 yards last week against NC State, adding five touchdowns. The Hurricanes will rely heavily on elusive receiver Phillip Dorsett, who over the last two weeks has carved up ACC competition posting huge numbers of 184 and 191 yards against Georgia Tech and North Carolina State, respectively.
The Irish will be considerably tougher on the QB and WR, as the defense is allowing just 9 points per game, and hasn't been kind to opposing QBs on way to a perfect 4-0 start. Last week the squad manhandled Michigan QB Denard Robinson, who managed just 138 yards passing, throwing four interceptions. Not even Robinsons' lauded speed was enough, as he only ran for 3.5 yards per carry.
