Following an impressive 30-13 win over the Oklahoma Sooners in Norman on Saturday, the Notre Dame Fighting Irish have emerged as a legitimate national title contender. The Irish, who jumped up two spots to No. 3 in the latest BCS standings, should have smooth sailing for the next three games. According to CSNChicago.com, the stiffest test remaining Notre Dame's schedule will come in their final regular season game on Nov. 24 when they head to Los Angeles to face the USC Trojans, who saw their national title hopes all but dashed when they were upset, 39-36, by the Arizona Wildcats on Saturday.
Notre Dame is slated to face Pittsburgh (4-4), Boston College (2-6) and Wake Forest (4-4) in the upcoming weeks, and could benefit from posting some impressive blowout victories against lackluster competition before clashing with a Trojans team that will be trying to claw their way back into favorable BCS standing.
Kickoff for the Irish's Week 10 matchup with Pittsburgh is slated for 3:30 p.m. ET and the game will be televised on NBC.
