The only touchdown of the game came in the first quarter when Irish running back Cierre Wood rushed for a 62-yard gain to put Notre Dame up 7-3 with 7:05 remaining in the opening frame.
Notre Dame extended their lead to 10-3 on a 34-yard field goal by Kyle Brindza before Oklahoma answered at the end of the second quarter with a field goal of their own to cut the lead to 10-6.
Neither team was able to score in the third quarter.
Everett Golson is 9-of-17 passing for 103 yards and has also rushed seven times for 63 yards. Oklahoma quarterback Landry Jones is 24-of-33 for 233 yards, but the Sooners' offense has yet to score a touchdown in the game.
