Notre Dame starting quarterback Everett Golson has been cleared to practice, according to Brian Hamilton of the Chicago Tribune.

Golson took a blow to the head late in the fourth quarter on Notre Dame's game-tying drive against Stanford. He was replaced in the game by Tommy Rees, who led the Fighting Irish to a 20-13 win in overtime over the Cardinal. Golson suffered a concussion on the play that knocked him out of the game. He missed practice on Monday and Tuesday but has now been cleared to return.

Golson has started all six games for the Fighting Irish and is the team's leading passer with 968 yards and four touchdowns and a 58.5 completion percentage. Rees also relieved Golson in Week 2 vs. Purdue and led Notre Dame to a game-winning field goal in the final minutes.

Notre Dame has opened the 2012 season with six consecutive wins and is ranked fifth in both the BCS and AP Polls. The Fighting Irish will host BYU this Saturday.
