At halftime of the Fiesta Bowl contest between the Stanford Cardinal and the Oklahoma State Cowboys, Pac-12 Commissioner Larry Scott stated that the conference will play a game in China "in the not too distant future," and further added that a matchup between the Stanford Cardinal and Notre Dame Fighting Irish may happen in Beijing as soon as 2013.

Notre Dame is already scheduled to play in Dublin, Ireland against the Navy Midshipmen in 2012, but it appears the school is interested to visiting the world's largest country as well. The Pac-12 commissioner said he plans discuss a visit to China with officials from both Stanford and Notre Dame, so more on the potential overseas matchup will develop in the coming weeks and months.
