The Northwestern Wildcats found themselves in the USA Today Coaches' Poll for the first time since 2008, coming in at No. 22 thanks to Saturday's 44-29 victory against the Indiana Hoosiers.

Pat Fitzgerald's team also appeared in the Associated Press Top 25 Poll.

The Wildcats and the Nebraska Cornhuskers are the only Big Ten teams ranked in the coaches' poll after Michigan State fell out with a loss to the Ohio State Buckeyes and the Wisconsin Badgers lost to the Huskers.

Leading the charge for newcomers to the poll, Northwestern was joined by formerly-unranked Cincinnati Bearcats, Texas Tech Red Raiders and Boise State Broncos.

The top of the coaches' poll remained unchanged, with the Alabama Crimson Tide sitting atop the rankings followed by the Oregon Ducks, LSU Tigers, Florida State Seminoles and Georgia Bulldogs. The top 17 was hardly any different from last week's poll, as only former No. 9 Stanford fell out of the group following a loss to the Washington Huskies on Thursday.
