The Northwestern Wildcats will attempt to extend their record to 3-0 Saturday when they face Boston College at Ryan Field in Evanston. The Wildcats defeated Syracuse on the road to open their season, and followed that up with a 10-point win over Vanderbilt last week.
Northwestern will again turn to junior quarterback Kain Colter, who has struggled throwing the ball in his first two appearances of the season. Colter is just 21/36 for 177 yards passing, with two touchdowns. He has added 106 yards rushing on 27 carries. Junior tailback Venric Mark has run for 205 yards, and is averaging 5.4 yards per carry.
Boston College enters the game 1-1, with a close loss to Miami and blowout victory over Maine to their credit. BC has relied heavily on the passing game this year, with quarterback Chase Rettig racking up 660 yards passing and five touchdowns in the first two weeks, including the 441 yards he put up against Miami.
Kickoff is scheduled for 2:30 p.m. CT, with television coverage on BTN. Northwestern is currently a 3.5-point favorite.
