On the heels of an emotional home loss to Ohio St., the Northwestern Wildcats faced a huge test against Iowa, knowing only a victory would keep alive the hopes of an NCAA Tournament berth. Despite a shaky performance down the stretch, the Wildcats took care of business, pulling off a key 70-66 win in Iowa City.
Although Northwestern didn't shoot the ball well from the field, it did enough to come away with a win. Drew Crawford led the way with a game-high 18 points and a team-high seven rebounds. JerShon Cobb added 13 points on 6/11 shooting. Dave Sobolewski struggled with his shot all game, but he did hit 7/7 from the free-throw line, including a couple of key free-throws down the stretch to seal the win.
While Iowa shot over 50% from the field as team, the Hawkeyes struggled to take care of the ball, committing 18 turnovers in the loss. Matt Gatens continued his excellent play, scoring a team-high 17 points. Aaron White chipped in 14 points, while Roy Devyn Marble scored 11.
