The Michigan State Spartans are holding a tiny 34-32 lead over the Ohio State Buckeyes going into halftime at the Big Ten Championship Game. Both teams were part of a three-way tie for the Big Ten regular season title along with the Michigan Wolverines, and are considered to be among the nation's best.
The first half of Sunday's game was back-and-forth, with neither team being able to really exert its might. Ohio State dominated Michigan in the tournament's semifinals, but it's having far more trouble dealing with Michigan State. The Spartans began the game by leading 7-2, and they haven't been able to extend the lead beyond that.
The Spartans shot well for the half, making 52 percent of their shots while draining 3-of-8 attempts from three-point range. The Buckeyes shot 45 percent in the first half, but they missed all six of their attempts from long range. Ohio State has had the advantage on the boards, though..
William Buford leads the Buckeyes with 10 points and two blocks while Aaron Craft has added six points, five rebounds and three steals. Jared Sullinger had a quiet half, putting up four points and three rebounds. Michigan State has been led by Draymond Green and Brandon Wood, who scored seven points apiece.
