The Northwestern Wildcats played the Indiana Hoosiers tough, but ultimately couldn't pull off the upset in a 71-66 Indiana victory on Wednesday night. The two sides played close for essentially the entire game, but the Wildcats couldn't match Indiana's final push.

With just over four minutes remaining in the game, the two sides were tied at 63 following a three-point play by John Shurna. Verdell Jones III quickly made a pair of baskets to put Indiana up by four, and then the Hoosiers limited the Wildcats to just a single field goal in the game's final four minutes. The Wildcats cooled off some after a hot first half, shooting 49 percent from the field for the game.

Shurna had another big game for Northwestern, leading all scorers with 29 points on 11-of-21 shooting. The Wildcats also got 18 points and six rebounds from Drew Crawford, but they needed more on the defensive end. Cody Zeller led the Hoosiers with 23 points on 9-of-11 shooting and seven rebounds, while Christian Watford and Victor Oladipo added 12 points apiece.
