The Northwestern Wildcats easily defeated the University of Chicago in an exhibition game on Wednesday, 70-46. Head coach Bill Carmody, who normally doesn't employ a deep bench, used 14 players over the course of the game.
Drew Crawford lead the team with 13 points and eight rebounds. Freshman center Alex Olah had 12 points nine rebounds, and also did not turn the ball over once in 22 minutes on the floor. Tre Demps with finished with 11 points, and Jared Swopshire had nine points and five rebounds. Charlie Hughes and Sam Gage lead Chicago with 10 points a piece.
The Wildcats open the regular season on Nov. 13th at home against Texas Southern. Tip-off is scheduled for 7 p.m. CT. They will play in the South Padre Island Invitational on Nov. 23rd and 24th against TCU, and the winner of UAB and Illinois State. Their Big Ten conference schedule begins on Jan. 3rd, 2013, when they host the Michigan Wolverines.
