The Northwestern Wildcats try to improve to 6-0 and 2-0 in the Big Ten as they play at the Penn State Nittany Lions at 11 a.m. CT Saturday on ESPN.
Northwestern is coming off a 44-29 win over Indiana last week. The Wildcats are beating opponents by an average of nearly 14 points per game in the last four weeks since they beat Syracuse by 1 in Week 1. The Wildcats feature a potent rushing attack, with five different players scoring rushing touchdowns this season. Venric Mark has run for 538 yards and five touchdowns. Kain Colter has 371 rushing yards and six touchdowns. He's also passed for two touchdowns. Mike Trumpy has 208 rushing yards and a touchdown this season.
Penn State is 3-2 this season and looked impressive last week in its Big Ten opener, a 35-7 win over Illinois. Quarterback Matt McGloin has thrown for 1,217 yards and 10 touchdowns. His favorite target has been Allen Robinson, who has 439 yards receiving and five touchdowns.
