Big Ten football standings 2012: Northwestern 3rd in Legends Division

Northwestern is in the thick of the Legends Division race.

Four Big Ten teams are undefeated in conference play, two from each division. In the Leaders Division, Ohio State is in first place at 3-0, though the Buckeyes are not eligible to play in the Big Ten title game or any postseason contest. That is also true for the division's second place team, Penn State. The Illinois Fighting Illini are tied for last in the division with an 0-3 record -- they're just 2-5 overall and have lost four games in a row. Wisconsin the only Leaders Division team eligible for the postseason that has won a conference game.

In the Legends Division, the Northwestern Wildcats are in third place with a 2-1 conference record, and they're 6-1 overall. Michigan and Iowa are tied atop the division at 2-0. Nebraska is in fourth place at 1-1, and Michigan State is fifth at 1-2. Minnesota is the only Legends team without a league win, though the Gophers are 4-2 overall.
