The Northwestern Wildcats are in the National Invitation Tournament (NIT) as a fourth seed and will host their first NIT game since 1994 Wednesday, taking on Milwaukee at Welsh-Ryan Arena. Game time is 7 p.m. CDT.

↵↵Northwestern (18-13 overall, 7-11 in the Big Ten) is making a school-record third consecutive postseason appearance and its sixth appearance in the NIT. The Wildcats defeated Minnesota in the opening round of the Big Ten tournament before losing a heartbreaker in overtime to No. 1 Ohio State in the quarterfinals.
↵↵Milwaukee is the regular-season champion of the Horizon League. Northwestern won the only previous meeting between the schools 80-44 Dec. 14, 1998 in Evanston.
