Northwestern Vs. Nebraska Score Update: Wildcats Up 7-3 At Half

Northwestern has relied on a stout defensive performance over the first 30 minutes to take a 7-3 lead at the half against No. 10 Nebraska. The lone touchdown of the first half was scored by senior RB Jacob Schmidt, who found the endzone on a two yard run.

The Wildcats have received a steady performance from senior QB Dan Persa, who threw for 79 yards in the first half. Versa also put his versatility on display, adding 29 rushing yards.

Defensively, the key play of the game came early in the second quarter when the Northwestern defense forced a key fumble from Nebraska RB Rex Burkhead in the redzone. The fumble was the only mistake Burkhead made in the first half, as the junior RB rushed for 51 yards. Sophomore QB Taylor Martinez has been impressive throwing the ball, completing 12/14 attempts for 110 yards.
