New Dallas Football Bowl Game To Have Ticket Broker Sponsor

The Cotton Bowl college football game, formerly played in the stadium of that name, moved to Cowboys Stadium last year.

That led Dallas folks to try to schedule a new game in the Cotton Bowl and they have done so -- and done so with a sponsor; the 11 a.m. January 1 date which last year was called the Dallas Football Classic will now be called the Ticket City Bowl.

Ticket City is, according to the press release sent out announcing the deal, "one of the nation’s most successful companies in the secondary ticket market". Does this mean that anyone trying to buy tickets to this game will have to pay above face value? The game's website says tickets range from $25 to $75, but... Also, they don't appear to be quite ready yet; clicking through where it says "Click here to view Stadium Seating Chart with Price Levels" gets you this error page. Clearly, it's still a work in progress.

This is of particular interest to Big Ten and Chicago fans, because the game will match the sixth choice Big Ten team against a school from the Big 12. It's very possible Northwestern could be that sixth choice, if they finish strong against Iowa, Illinois and Wisconsin.
