SB Nation is releasing its preseason college football All-American team this week. The linebacker selections were disclosed on Tuesday and Notre Dame linebacker Manti Te'o made the cut.
Te'o was an absolute monster last season for the Fighting Irish and is garnering his share of consideration in the preseason. He has also been named to the watch list as a candidate for the Butkus Award given to the nation's top linebacker.
It's no surprise Te'o is getting this type of recognition. Last season, he recorded 120 tackles and had five sacks. He saved perhaps his best effort for last, racking up a season-high 14 tackles against the Florida State Seminoles in the Champs Sports Bowl in December. Te'o is expected to be a force to be reckoned with once again in 2012 and will give offensive linemen and quarterbacks all sorts of headaches.
