Chicago Simeon Academy forward Jabari Parker could ultimately wait until the spring to commit to a school if the early signing period passes, as his father told ESPN Chicago's Scott Powers. It was previously rumored that Parker, the nation's top recruit for the 2013 class, could commit by the early signing period from Nov. 14-21 of this year.
Here's the quote from Sonny Parker, Jabari's father:
We aren't in a hurry. He can pretty much go anywhere he wants to go and can take his time. We're in a good position to take his time and get it right the first time. We'd like to get it over with, but there's no rush. Like I told him, if you aren't ready, do it in the spring. If they want you bad enough, they'll wait. He's the No. 1 player.
Recently, Parker released a list of ten schools that he's presently considering: BYU, DePaul, Duke, Florida, Georgetown, Kansas, Kentucky, Michigan State, North Carolina and Stanford. Many analysts quickly noted that the list omits local basketball power Illinois, but the 6-foot-8 forward has many of the nation's top programs included.
