— Bruce Feldman (@BFeldmanCBS) August 2, 2012@azc_obert: OL Ryan Nowicki just told Illinois coaches he'll be playing for them, leaving Penn State
Nowicki, a three-star offensive lineman out of Glendale, Arizona, spent the 2011 NCAA season as a redshirt. The 6-foot-5, 280 lbs. lineman received a number of accolades coming out of high school, including a No. 31 prep tackle in the nation ranking from Rivals.com.
With the Penn State football program undergoing heavy sanctions for the Sandusky scandal, many players have elected to take advantage of the NCAA's offered amnesty regarding transfers. Nowicki himself had been a subject of transfer rumors for some time.
