Curie High School big man Cliff Alexander is the latest in a long line of prodigious hoops talent to come out of Chicago. Alexander is ranked No. 10 overall by Scout in the Class of 2014, and that doesn't even make him the best prospect in his class in the state: Whitney Young center Jahlil Okafor is ranked second nationally. When you consider that Chicago is also home to the country's top incoming senior (Simeon forward Jabari Parker) and sure-fire No. 1 overall pick in June's NBA Draft (Kentucky-via-Perspectives HS forward Anthony Davis), it makes for a remarkable recent talent boon in our fair city.
Alexander plays his AAU ball for Team D. Rose -- hey, another local kid made good. Over the weekend, Alexander threw down a dunk so nasty it shattered the backboard.
Alexander has offers from Michigan State, Illinois, Ohio State and DePaul, just to name a few.
