Illinois Football: 2012 Spring Game Set For Saturday Afternoon

Fans can get their first look at the 2012 Illini.

The 2012 Illinois spring football game is set to begin at 2:00 p.m. CT on Saturday afternoon, giving Illini fans their first look at next year's squad. Parking and admission are free.

Here are some notes on the rules, from Illinois' athletics website:

Some general rules for the Spring Game:

-- The game will be played with a normal clock in the first half and a running clock in the second half (except for the final two minutes if the game is close).
-- All drives after a score will start on the 30 yard line.
-- All punts will be fair caught.
-- Field goals will be kicked but there will be no rush.

This game came with a bit of a twist -- the seniors got together to draft the rosters for each team. Quarterback Nathan Scheelhaase was the No. 1 pick.
