On Friday, Michael Orris announced that he has decided not to enroll at the University of Illinois and will look elsewhere to play college basketball. Orris, a 6'2" point guard, had been the only commitment in Illinois' 2012 class. He had originally committed to play for Bruce Weber.

According to Orris' AAU coach, new head coach John Groce's style of play became an issue, and Groce was surprised by the news that Orris decided to move on.

"He felt (Groce's) style would not fit the way he plays," Lidskin said.

He said Groce was "kind of shocked" but was easy to deal with during the process.

It is not yet known which schools Orris will consider.
