Bruce Weber At Illinois: Coach's Job In Jeopardy After Loss To Iowa

Will Illinois fire coach Bruce Weber? It seems likely.

Barring a surprise selection to compete in the NIT, the Illinois Fighting Illini saw their 2011-2012 season end just hours ago with a first round loss to Iowa in the Big Ten Tournament. Now those invested in the program shift their attention to AD Mike Thomas, who's the man tasked with deciding coach Bruce Weber's fate.

It seems likely that Weber will be fired after the Illini dropped nine of their last 10 games to end the season. Weber is talking like a man who knows what's going to happen:

"I don't know," Weber said when asked about his future at Illinois. "I don't even know if we'll be in the NIT, to be honest."

"If I'm the coach at Illinois, I'll coach every day just like I always do," Weber said. "I think we're a bubble team for the NIT. We just have to see how things unfold. For the kids' sake, I would like something positive."
