Illinois Announces Date Of Spring Football Game

The University of Illinois on Thursday announced the date of it's annual spring football game. The Illini will play the navy and blue exhibition game on April 14th at Memorial Stadium. The scrimmage will begin at 2:00 and both parking and admission will be free to the public.

New Illinois football coach Tim Beckman has announced that this will be the only practice that is open to the public and that summer camp would most likely be off limits to the public also.

Beckman takes over for Ron Zook who was fired in December. The Illini got off to a very fast start to the 2011 season only to lose the last half of the season. Beckman joins the Illini after coaching at Toledo.

Spring practice begins for Illinois on March 7th.
