Illinois Vs. Nebraska Preview: Illini Desperate To End Losing Streak

Illinois travels to Nebraska on Saturday afternoon.

For an Illinois team that has lost four straight, Saturday afternoon's game against Nebraska amounts to a must-win situation. At 5-8 in Big Ten play, and with away games at Ohio State and Wisconsin still ahead, the Illini really need to take care of business against the last place Nebraska Cornhuskers.

In the first meeting, which was won by Illinois 59-54, the Illini did a great job at the defensive end of rebounding and forcing turnovers. The Cornhuskers shot the ball well, but those two limiting factors were too much for them to overcome. Nebraska has had issues in the rebounding and turnover departments all year, so that first performance is certainly something that the Illini defense could repeat.

At the other end, Illinois could have its way with Nebraska inside, as this is a matchup of one of the most accurate two-point shooting teams in the league and one of the league's worst interior defenses.

Game Date & Time: Saturday, Feb. 18, 4:00 p.m. CT
