Jabari Parker, who remains undecided on which school he will attend and play basketball at, provided some insight on Friday as to why Illinois is no longer on his short list.
Appearing on the Waddle and Silvy Show on Friday morning, Parker said the biggest reason he decided to no longer consider Illinois was due to their firing of coach Bruce Weber.
Parker went on to say that, if Weber were still there, Illinois would still be considered one of his few favorites:
"They would. Me and Bruce, he's been recruiting me since seventh grade. He knows me probably more than any of the other coaches on the circuit right now."
Without Illinois in the picture, Parker has made official visits to big-time schools such as Florida, Michigan State, Duke and BYU. Additionally, he intends on visiting Stanford in the future as well.
Though Parker had thought about going on a Mormon mission, forgoing college basketball in the process, he recently said that he will be attending college, somewhere, next year.
