Those invested in college basketball recruiting know that Illinois' Class of 2013 is loaded with a ton of basketball talent. Simeon's Jabari Parker might already -- as an incoming junior -- be the best high school player in the nation. Whitney Young center Tommy Hamilton and Morgan Park's Billy Garrett, Jr. are also highly regarded prospects. But as everyone waits on the unofficial word from Parker (hint: Duke), the Class of 2012 got to take the spotlight for the day.
From the good people at YourSeason.com, we have the entire list of Chicago-area high school basketball players who signed Division I letters of intent.
The group is perhaps headlined by Michael Orris, a 6'3 guard out of Crete-Monee. Local basketball fans will also be familiar with Steve Taylor, a 6'7 forward for state powerhouse Simeon. Taylor signed with Marquette.
Whitney Young's Gabriel Snider is one player who will be staying at home. Snider won't have to travel far from his high school to get to his college, as the guard signed with UIC.
