NCAA Basketball Results: Myke Henry's Coming Out Party Highlights Illini Win

We round up the local college basketball scores from the weekend.

Illinois recruited in-state heavily for its freshman class in 2011-2012. Michael Shaw (De La Salle), Tracy Abrams (Mt. Carmel), and Nnanna Egwu (St. Ignatius) all had proud high school careers in Bruce Weber's own backyard before being recruited to come to Champaign. Perhaps the player with the biggest upside out of the group is Orr product Myke Henry. Henry has struggled to find playing time early this season, but made an impact by scoring 14 points against Chicago State in a 90-43 on Sunday at Assembly Hall.

Meyers Leonard, D.J. Richardson and Egwu each scored 11 for Illinois in victory. The win moved the Illini to 6-0.

DePaul (4-1) scored an unexpected non-conference victory by knocking off Arizona State 68-64 on Sunday. Cleveland Melvin scored 18 and Brandon Young added 13 points in the win. The victory earned the Blue Demons a fifth place finish in the Old Spice Classic.

UIC (2-3) lost to Toledo 82-67 on Sunday. Loyola picked up its first win of the season by defeating Fordham 64-50 on Saturday.
