Ron Zook On The Hot Seat? Illinois Fighting Illini Coach Leaves Press Conference

The Illini have more than a tough season to deal with, they have the drama of a hot seat coach on their hands too.

The Illinois Fighting Illini head coach Ron Zook abruptly left a press conference (video) on Monday after reporters continued to ask him about whether he was on the hot seat or not. Zook told reporters he was not interested in discussing himself during the press conference, stating, "It's not about me. It's not about my future."

When asked by one reporter if he had talked to the players about his possible future with Illinois, Zook concluded the interview, saying: "You just couldn't let it go, could you Shannon. Alright, thank you."

The Fighting Illini football team is 6-4 this year after losing four straight games to the Ohio St. Buckeyes, Purdue Boilermakers, Penn St. Nittany Lions, and Michigan Wolverines. The team is now 2-4 in the Big Ten conference and 34-49 since Ron Zook became head coach in 2005.
