As college basketball gets into full swing, so do the early-season tournaments. Illinois, Northwestern and Notre Dame each begin play in a tournament this week, though Northwestern is the only team that actually has to travel to do so. The week's schedule for the region's teams, including TV information when available:
Illinois
Nov. 14: vs. SIU Edwardsville (7:30 p.m. CT, BTN.com).
It's the second game of the season for the Illini, who should stay unblemished.
Nov. 17: vs. Lipscomb (8:00 p.m. CT, Big Ten Network)
It's the opening game of the Cancun Challenge for Illinois, though this game will be played at Assembly Hall. They will continue the tournament in Cancun next week.
Northwestern
Nov. 17: vs. Louisiana State (2:00 p.m. CT, ESPNU)
The Wildcats are off to the Charleston Classic where they'll play in three games this week, beginning with the LSU Tigers on Thursday afternoon. They'll play either Tulsa or Western Kentucky on Nov. 18, and from there their next opponent depends on how the tournament shakes out (pdf).
Notre Dame
Nov. 14: vs. Detroit (8:00 p.m. CT, ESPNU)
Notre Dame begins play in a preseason tournament as well--this is the first game of the Progressive CBE Classic for the Irish. They'll also host Sam Houston State as part of the tournament.
Nov. 16: vs. Sam Houston State (6:30 p.m. CT)
Nov. 18: vs. Delaware State (8:00 p.m. CT
DePaul
Nov. 14: vs. Mississippi Valley State (7:30 p.m. CT)
The Blue Demons host MVSU before traveling to the Old Spice Classic in Orlando beginning on Nov. 24.
