Illinois Linebacker Shot At Party

↵

Illinois will be without one of their defensive leaders for the rest of the season after linebacker Trulon Henry was shot in the hand at a party at an off-campus house. Henry wasn't originally at the party, but received calls from other teammates asking him to come by to convince other players to leave. A fight had broken out at the party which is why Henry was asked to come remove fellow teammates from the off-campus location.

Henry arrived at the party close to 3:30 in the morning when the Illinois linebacker and two other men were shot by a man who returned to the party and opened fire on the crowded patio. The bullet struck Henry in the right wrist and exited through his ring finger while damaging an artery in the process and a few broken bones.
