Illinois Rolls Past Indiana 41-20

Jenkins stars again in route of Hoosiers

Illinois continued their surprise start to the 2011 season beating Indiana with relative ease 41-20 at Memorial Stadium in Bloomington.

Indiana (1-5, 0-2) got off to a fast start Saturday. Shane Wynn took the opening kickoff 99 yards to put the Hoosiers up 7-0 12 seconds into the game. Indiana would increase the lead to 10-0 after getting the ball off an Illini turnover. Unfortunately for Indiana, the hopes of an upset over their rivals from Illinois (6-0, 2-0) wouldn't last much longer.

Illinois got on the scoreboard when Nathan Scheelhaase connected with A.J. Jenkins on a 77-yard strike to pull the Illini within three points. A few minutes later the Illini would take the lead for good when Tavon Wilson returned a fumble 66 yards for the go ahead score.

Nathan Scheelhaase had another great game for the Illini. The Illini QB went 12-22 for 210 yards and three touchdowns and added another 88 yards on the ground and a rushing touchdown. Receiver A.J. Jenkins followed up his record breaking numbers last week with six catches for 182 yards and two touchdowns. Illinois had 518 yards of total offense compared with just 302 for Indiana.

The Illini will look to go 7-0 next week when they host Ohio State.
