The DePaul Blue Demons basketball season is off to a bad start before it's even begun, as they've lost freshman forward DeJuan Marreo after an MRI showed that he tore his right ACL in practice.

Marreo, a 6'5, 215-pound forward was expected to play for the Blue Demons and make an impact during his freshman season, but he will likely be forced to take a medical redshirt as the knee injury will cost him his entire 2012-13 season.

He was ranked by ESPN as the No. 13 player of the Class of 2012 to come out of the state of Indiana and was ranked as the No. 49 player at the small forward position.

The Blue Demons finished with the worst record in the Big East for the 2011-12 season at 3-15, although they finished 9-4 in conference play to finish with a 12-19 overall record. The 2012-13 season will begin for DePaul on Friday, Nov. 9 against UC Riverside.
