The DePaul Blue Demons are trailing 48-36 at halftime against a struggling Villanova Wildcats team as the two Big East teams duke it out. DePaul seemingly had all of the momentum coming into this game after pulling off a 84-81 victory over Pittsburgh last week, but that hasn't carried over into Sunday. The Wildcats, on the other hand, have lost three consecutive games and six of their past eight.

It was a poor first half for DePaul right from the beginning, as Villanova got out to a 10-0 lead before the Blue Demons had even scored a single point. DePaul managed to cut the lead to just one point roughly midway through the half, but the Wildcats just kept hitting open shots. Villanova is currently shooting 63 percent from the field so far, including 4-for-6 from three-point range.

But beyond Villanova's strong shooting, fouling has been a major issue for DePaul so far. The Blue Demons committing 18 fouls in the first half, allowing the Wildcats to shoot 20 free throws (and make 14 of them). DePaul already has three players with three fouls apiece, and twice as many fouls as Villanova. Poor shooting hasn't helped the Blue Demons, either, as they've made just 36 percent of their shots thus far.
