Georgetown Vs. DePaul Final Score: Blue Demons Fall Short In 83-75 Defeat

The DePaul Blue Demons couldn't pull off the upset in a 83-75 defeat against the No. 10 Georgetown Hoyas on Tuesday night. The Blue Demons trailed 37-31 after halftime and couldn't come all the way back despite playing a competitive second half.

Rebounding was a major issue for the Blue Demons, as the Hoyas posted a stunning 43-18 advantage on the boards. That helped to offset some of Georgetown's sloppiness on offense, as DePaul forced 18 turnovers. With the Hoyas shooting 53 percent from the field and dominating the rebounding game, the Blue Demons needed to have their shots falling and they simply didn't.

DePaul shot just 43 percent from the field while making 9 of 25 three-pointers. Cleveland Melvin led the team with 19 points while Brandon Young added 16. Moses Morgan had made 5 of his 8 three-point attempts en route to 17 points, as well. The Blue Demons just couldn't stop the Hoyas' Jason Clark, though, as he torched them for 31 points on 11-for-14 shooting.

It's the fourth straight loss for DePaul, which drops to 10-8 on the season. The Blue Demons are now 1-5 against Big East opponents and haven't won since beating Pittsburgh on Jan. 5.
