When the DePaul Blue Demons (10-5, 1-2) meet the Seton Hall Pirates (14-2, 3-1) on Tuesday night, both teams will be looking to build on recent momentum. The Blue Demons have won six of their last eight games overall, including a 84-81 upset of the Pittsburgh Panthers on January 5th fueled by Cleveland Melvin and Brandon Young. The Pirates have reeled off wins in 12 of their last 13 contests and moved into the AP Top 25 for the first time in over ten years, so DePaul shouldn't expect their next potential Big East win to come easy.

Seton Hall is red hot and recently upended a top-10 team in the Connecticut Huskies. They are led by senior forward Herb Pope, who is tops on the team with averages of 17.9 points and 10.7 rebounds per game. For the Blue Demons, they lean heavily on Melvin and Young, who average 18.9 and 17.1 points, respectively. Melvin's 18.9 points per game is good for second-best in the Big East behind West Viginia's Kevin Jones (19.8), while Herb Pope has the second-highest rebounds per game average. DePaul's Brandon Young and Seton Hall's Jordan Theodore earned Big East honorable mention for their strong performances during the week ending on January 8th.
