DePaul Vs. Syracuse Final Score: Blue Demons Fall To Orange, 87-68

DePaul wasn't able to upset the nation's top team.

DePaul has already won more games than it did all of last season, but the team learned on Sunday that it still has a long way to go to compete at the top of the Big East. The visitors from Syracuse -- the No. 1 team in the nation -- controlled the game and rolled to an 87-68 victory.

The Blue Demons are used to winning the turnover battle with Oliver Purnell's pressure-heavy defensive system, but that was not the case on Sunday, and Syracuse feasted on points inside the arc, hitting 31 of 46 two-point attempts. Interior defense has been an issue for DePaul all season.

Cleveland Melvin played well for DePaul and scored 23 points on 9-18 shooting. Kris Joseph led the Orange with 22 points.
