The DePaul Blue Demons (8-3) proved unstoppable against the one-win Ark.-Pine Bluff Golden Lions (1-8), winning at home 81-62.
Sophomore G Brandon Young had another double-digit point game, dropping 19 points to go with his 4 rebounds and 5 assists. Kelly has now put up 15 or more points in his past three games. Senior G Jeremiah Kelly and sophomore F Cleveland Melvin both cracked double digits as well, scoring 15 and 13 points respectively. C Krys Faber led the team with 7 rebounds.
Despite the tough loss -- in which DePaul took a 20-point near the end of the first half and then dominated through the second half -- the Golden Lions had a strong showing from their top three players: Savalace Townsend (23 pts, 5 rebounds), Daniel Broughton (18 pts, 11 rebounds), and Mitchell Anderson (14 pts, 11 rebounds). The remainder of the team took a collective 10 shots combined.
The Blue Demons will be back in action on Wednesday, December 17, taking on the Cal Poly-SLO Mustangs (7-3).
