White Sox Add 6 To Active Roster As MLB Rosters Expand

The Chicago White Sox made six roster moves Saturday, expanding their Major League roster to 31 players. Major League Baseball rosters were allowed to expand from 25 to 40 starting today.

The White Sox recalled pitchers Deunte Heath and Brian Omogrosso from Triple-A Charlotte and purchased the contract of first baseman Dan Johnson from Charlotte. Omogrosso played briefly for the White Sox this season. Heath and Johnson have been in the minors all season.

The team also recalled second baseman Orlando Hudson and pitcher Leyson Septimo from their injury rehab assignments. The White Sox reinstated catcher Tyler Flowers from the paternity leave list.

The White Sox face the Detroit Tigers at 6:05 p.m. CT tonight. They lead the Tigers by two games in the AL Central standings.
