Chris Sale Has The League's Best Slider, According To Baseball America

Mark Gonzalez of the Chicago Tribune reports the dynamic, lanky lefty SP Chris Sale of the Chicago White Sox, has earned a No. 1 ranking among MLB sliders and a No. 3 ranking among MLB fastballs. Baseball America conducted a survey of the league's managers, and Sale received no little praise, placing behind only Justin Verlander and David Price in the fastball category.

His heater, which has averaged only 92.1 mph this season, was typically in the mid-to-high 90s in relief last year. According to FanGraps' pitch value leaderboard, Sale's fastball ranks only second to that of Jered Weaver (according to wFB/c) and his slider actually comes in well behind the leader, Yu Darvish, and behind Cubs starter Jeff Samardzija at No. 20.
