White Sox Vs. Royals: Adam Dunn Disappointed 400th Career Home Run Came In Defeat

While there's still reason to celebrate, Chicago White Sox designated hitter Adam Dunn displayed disappointment to reporters after hitting his 400th career home run in the team's 9-4 loss to the Kansas City Royals on Saturday night. As CSN Chicago's Dan Hayes writes, Dunn was hoping that his 400th bomb would be part of a winning effort:

It’s the worst-case scenario. We played two bad games. It was just a disaster from the get-go. It’s hard to enjoy. I wish it would have obviously come in a win for sure. That makes anything a lot better.

Even so, Dunn's accomplishment is one worth celebrating, even if he's not especially thrilled. The 32-year-old is the 50th player in MLB history to reach the 400-home run threshold, and given his youth it seems likely that he'll continue his climb up the all-time leaderboards.
