White Sox starter Jake Peavy was beat out in the final vote for the 2012 MLB All-Star Game by Texas Rangers pitcher Yu Darvish, but Chicago's 31-year old workhorse is going to Kansas City regardless. Peavy will make the All-Star Game as an injury replacement for Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim pitcher C.J. Wilson.
Peavy is 7-5 with a 2.85 ERA and 0.99 this season. The righty has been plagued by injuries since the White Sox acquired him in 2010, but he's been very dependable for the Sox this season. Peavy has thrown 120 innings and thrown four complete games over his 17 starts in 2012.
Peavy will join Chris Sale, Paul Konerko and Adam Dunn in representing the White Sox in Kansas City.
